Equivalent network of an open ended duct

Mechanically, the tube is equivalent to a mass, due the the inertial effects of the air.

If the effects of acoustic radiation are ignored, then, electrically, it is as if the load impedance is zero.

Thus, the equivalent electrical circuit is a inductance connected in series.

If radiation is taken into account, the inductance is , where is the radiation mass, as shown in section 3.1.
